Tinting adds temporary color and definition to the eyebrow hairs, helping the brows appear fuller, more defined, and polished.
Before Your Waxing Appointment
For the best results, allow enough hair growth for the wax to properly grip the hair. Please let us know before your appointment if you are using prescription retinoids, topical acne medications, strong exfoliating acids, or have recently received a chemical peel or other resurfacing treatment, as waxing may need to be modified or postponed.
Waxing FAQ
How long should my hair be before waxing?
For best results, allow approximately 3–4 weeks of hair growth after shaving. The hair needs to be long enough for the wax to grip properly. Avoid shaving between waxing appointments if you are trying to establish a regular waxing routine.
How often should I schedule waxing?
Most clients schedule waxing approximately every 4–6 weeks, depending on the area and individual hair-growth cycle. Staying consistent can make future appointments easier because the hair is being removed on a regular schedule.
What should I avoid before waxing?
Avoid tanning or significant sun exposure immediately before your appointment. Please also tell us about retinoids, prescription acne medications, exfoliating acids, recent chemical peels, laser treatments, or other resurfacing procedures, as these can make the skin more vulnerable to lifting or irritation.
What should I avoid after waxing?
For approximately 24–48 hours, avoid excessive heat and friction in the freshly waxed area. This can include hot tubs, saunas, very hot showers, strenuous exercise, swimming, tanning, and heavily fragranced products. For intimate waxing, avoiding sexual activity during the initial period of irritation may also help minimize friction.
How can I prevent ingrown hairs?
Once the skin has calmed, gentle exfoliation can help prevent dead skin from trapping new hair growth. Avoid picking at ingrown hairs. We can recommend an appropriate home-care routine based on your skin.
Can I add eyebrow tinting to my facial wax?
Yes. Brow tinting can be added for $25 to give the brows additional color and definition.
Can teenagers receive waxing services?
Yes, with appropriate parental or legal guardian consent. For clients under 18 requesting Brazilian, bikini, or other intimate-area waxing, a parent or legal guardian must provide permission and be present at the studio for the appointment.
What if I'm pregnant?
Many clients continue waxing during pregnancy, although the skin can become more sensitive. Please let us know that you are pregnant when booking so we can take your comfort and skin sensitivity into consideration.
Can Clients Under 18 Receive Waxing Services?
Yes, clients under the age of 18 may receive certain waxing services with parent or legal guardian permission.
For Brazilian, bikini, or other intimate-area waxing, a parent or legal guardian must provide consent and be present at the studio for the appointment.
For the comfort and protection of our younger clients, age restrictions or additional requirements may apply to certain services. Please contact Lavender Skin Therapy before booking an intimate waxing service for anyone under 18.
